A reflection of Manchester’s heritage, this dynamic illustration features an industrial mill filled with a detailed map of Ancoats in bold blues and yellow. This piece was first created for BBC One’s Home Is Where the Art Is and was designed to represent the new home of the buyers, Ben and Marc.

Originally created as part of a 16 piece set for BBC One's Home Is Where the Art Is, this modern print reflects the industrial history of the Ancoats area of Manchester.

From the late 18th Century Ancoats was a thriving industrial hub, gaining the title of "the world's first industrial suburb". Combining a cotton mill outline with an intricately drawn map of the area, this piece juxtaposes the traditional with bright, modern colours making for an eye-catching work of art.

This piece can stand alone or be combined with any of the Home Is Where the Art Is series to create a set of prints exploring Manchester's rich history. See other prints in this series here.
